From Bo'Weavil... The Obliquity Trio return to Bo Weavil for a blistering live set, incorporating elements of pure, old-school swing, extreme, dissonant free-music and plain old weirdness. Alan Wilkinson, John Edwards and Steve Noble are on fire here, throwing everything they've got into a relatively short, sub-forty-minute set, which despite passages of rampant intensity never gets out of hand - there's a thread of warmth and humour running through these exchanges, with the eight-minute coda 'Recoil' being an especially enjoyable (and very approachable) sequence of the recording, sure to satisfy the broadest range of improv fans.
