"In 1998, at the age of 23, Wilfred Brandt relocated from the U.S. Midwest (where he was born and raised) to Los Angeles for an internship in television at a daily cable comedy show called Talk Soup. By day, he watched videotapes of TV talk shows like Jerry Springer and Sally Jesse Raphael, and by night he explored the gay leather bars of Silver Lake (whilst still very much in the closet).
