ViviKit - BugMantis LP

Vivikit is the new duo of Bruce Warner of The Thought Criminals and Stephen Philip of Do Re Mi/The Thought Criminals. When Bruce dropped the copies around to the shop he described it as “indescribable,” but I’m gonna take a shot seeing as there’s not a lot of info available about them online. Bugmantis takes a studio-heavy approach to ‘art rock’ (drum machines, synths, elaborate double tracking) but within a home studio setting, with the album tracked via email across Australia’s two coasts. The kind of record that evokes the Eno and Bowie collaborations or the more brooding edges of the Dark Entries catalogue!
