From Boomkat:
DJ Sotofett/Sex Tags/Wania spar Vera Dvale returns to Good Morning Tapes with a 100 minute session of roots, rocksteady, lovers rock and dubbed out skankers, a followup of sorts to 2020’s ‘Music Is Kinship’ tape for the same label, this time recorded at the GMT outdoor party at Toko Toko, Bundialung Country (Byron Bay) in 2022.
In the wake of a handful of releases for DJ Sotofett’s Sex Tags Amfibia and its Wania sibling 2016-2019, and more recent solo turns, Vera Dvale dips into her considerable boxes for measuredly paced and judicious picks from roots reggae’s golden years.
Crackling with the grit of time, the mix leans into nice ’n easy, sun baked and swaying grooves for the most, but reserves the right to dip into pockets of weirdo dub and early dalliances with synths that prove Dvale’s supreme selection credentials once again. This one’s all about the vibes, in keeping with the label’s interest in the good of your health = impossible not to feel the uplift, if even just for an hour or two in its company.
