Tyrannic - Tyrannic Desolation LP

Tyrannic’s 3rd album isn’t a homage to or scholarly execution of, say Hellhammer, 2nd & 3rd Darkthrone albums, early Mayhem, Flames Of Hell, Beherit etc, but for me the raw, eccentric and crude aura is captured in a manner I didn’t expect to experience so viscerally.

Even more so than previous releases ‘Tyrannic Desolation’ captures that bewildering feeling of first experiencing those early rules-yet-to-be-established Black Metal, and beyond that the loose beginnings of Doom, and Metal in general.

How did these demented but hook-y riffs and baffling counter-melodies come to be? Must be some dark magic. Once again Tyrannic delivers on the promises of obtuse metal! - Nic
