JUNE 2021 RSD DROPS RELEASE. The Lost Philip Glass Sessions by The Raybeats is a memento of a singular moment in New York's cultural history; a time where it felt like anything could happen, and it did. 'The Raybeats represented intersections of multiple streams of creativity, where new music and popular culture were colliding,' says Philip Glass, who joined the band in Green St. Studio along with Michael Riesman and Kurt Munkacsi on June 4th, 1982. 'When we think of music and New York of that period, we think of groups like The Raybeats.' The band didn't know what to expect when they walked into the studio on that fateful day, and they wouldn't realize what they had until 30 years later. Philip Glass was already amassing an international audience at the time, and his addition to these songs was just another moment of creative spontaneity.
