An all timer from The Raincoats!
The scattered rickety guitar music of the first LP here morphs into something else entirely, full of weird contradictions and paradoxes. An album that is seemingly composed and spontaneous and both amateurish and accomplished at the same time. Fluid bass lines that sound like they draw from reggae or dub, droning chord structures, vocals that are mysteriously buried in the mix, layers of scattered percussion (featuring a Robert Wyatt cameo!?).
