The Move - Message From The Country CD (Remastered and Expanded)
The Move obviously had their world lit up by The Beatles, but on this, their final album they pushed their British Invasion sound into a hard and eccentric new place. It’s a stepping stone to the workingman’s whimsy and thuggish fun of mid-70s Glam and Hard Rock.
Soon Roy Wood, Jeff Lynne and Bev Bevan would launch their Electric Light Orchestra, then Roy would leave to become a full time Wizzard. Bonus non-album singles are included and that makes up for the tin pan alley tippy toe around the garden bullcrap songs they for some reason felt obligated to write... a homage to Paul perhaps?
Anyway, if you buy one Remastered (honestly it sounds crazy good) & Expanded CD from 1971 featuring future members of ELO and The Travelling Wilburys, make it ‘Message From The Country’. - Nic
• NEW REMASTERED EDITION OF THE CLASSIC 1971 ALBUM BY THE MOVE WITH NINE BONUS TRACKS.
• NEWLY REMASTERED FROM THE ORIGINAL HARVEST MASTER TAPES.
The album was recorded while members Roy Wood, Jeff Lynne and Bev Bevan were also creating the debut album by their newly formed group The Electric Light Orchestra and was the result of lengthy recording sessions during which Wood and Lynne undertook extensive overdubbing to create an album which is now regarded as a masterpiece.
Released in June 1971 on EMI’s progressive imprint Harvest, ‘MESSAGE FROM THE COUNTRY’ would be the final LP by The Move.
This new expanded edition of this classic album has been newly remastered from the original Harvest tapes and features an additional 9 tracks drawn from three singles issued between May 1971 and April 1972 and session out-takes.
