Mound of Sound is proud to present ‘Add Lightness’ the new release from sound artist 'the little hand of the faithful'.

‘Add Lightness’ is the seventh release from the little hand of the faithful, the solo project of Mitchell Jones (The Barons, Scattered Order, My Name is Mannering, Lint).

"I spend loads of time thinking about the elements and methods involved in crafting music. Ways of pushing sound and noise into musical places and ways of pushing music into narratives, and pulling descriptive passages out of musical thin air. I’ve always loved  soundtrack music, but I wanted to make tracks that are the pictures themselves.
With ‘the little hand of the faithful’ I can leave the density and complexity of my “day job” with Scattered Order to one side and concentrate on the spaces as much as the sounds. For this release I’ve tried to lead the listener into palpable spaces they weren’t expecting."

This album finds The little hand of the faithful using often quite abstract ways to produce 'wide screen pop.' Pools of echo, languid electric pianos, warm and resonant spaces as well as ice cold vastness pierced by all manner of guitar and other wires. Leaning away from vocal samples and into occasional, more personal voice parts, these new tracks have all of the invention and charm characteristic of this artist's previous releases.
