The Green Child - Look Familiar LP

Previously an esteemed duo consisting of Raven Mahon and Mikey Young (of Grass Widow/Rocky and Eddy Current Suppression Ring/ Total Control/ Kissland respectively), The Green Child return as a quartet with two new members of equally as esteemed standing: Alex Macfarlane (Faceless Burial, The Stevens) and Shaun Gionis (Boomgates)!

As with the last two records, Look Familiar continues to flesh out their dreamy psychedelic pop approach, reminiscent of Another Green World-era Eno: with Raven’s drifting vocals underpinned by an array of bubbling synths and weaving (and distinctly Mikey Young penned) guitar lines. However, with live drums and further accompaniments fleshing out the record, they here approach something closer to Broadcast, Stereolab, or even a less pent up Total Control.

And maybe in my opinion album cover of the year with the killer Jane Mahon painting on the cover!
