The Great Unwashed - Clean Out Of Our Minds LP

A record for those (like me) who have flogged The Clean Anthology to death and want something fresh!

Not saying that The Clean aren’t forever timeless and a deep well of relistening, but this Great Unwashed record is really hitting the spot lately. Formed by The Kilgour brothers sometime in 1982/83 while the group was on hiatus (and Robert Scott was off forming The Bats), this is an album very much in the vein of the classic tracks of the group, but somewhat more subdued. Bedroom recordings comes with it’s own connotations in 2024 that don’t really do this justice, but the pop genius of the brothers is there, casually wheeled off among hazy recordings and psychedelic home tape manipulation.
