Hozac are back doing what Hozac do best: unearthing long-forgotten gems of underground rock from the rough.
The latest batch features a collection of mostly unreleased tracks from The Gorls (feat. members of The Night Kings among others). Considering these tracks were taped in Seattle in the years directly following ’91, there’s a notable lack of flannelette shirt and cargo short posturing (except for that one guy in the press shots, but I swear it doesn’t sound grungy...).
Instead, The Gorls weave together a kind of garage/sharehouse lounge room rock music out of threads of post-Nuggets suburban psych, Raw Power heft, and ’77 social commentary (check that cover of The Victims!).
