The Brights - The Wind and Other Things CS

They’re obviously called The Brights for good reason, with the treble dialled in on the guitars and jangle and chime coming by the bucketload on their latest release. Clean and melodic guitar music that recalls the likes of The Ocean Party, Goon Sax, or Twerps, but with a country twang at times that makes me reckon they would have slotted in nicely as a David Berman/Silver Jews backing band.

That’s all to say that the songwriting sits at the fore on this tape: contemplative and lackadaisical all at once, both daydreamy but with a humming anxiety about what the present/future holds.
