It feels like the musical underworld is catching up with what Terrine has been laying down. As I've said before, everything on Bruit Direct Disques eventually hits the spot, and maybe the climate is right for you and I to have our Terrine moment?
I've been debating whether to move this LP from the Electronic section, as while it's predominantly synthesized it doesn't serve the club, deconstructed or otherwise. The zone is a sweet spot of electronic music that doesn't directly align with either side of the dance/industrial divide.
A homespun, pure electronic music approach that brings to mind Nord, Storm Bugs, the Liquid Sky soundtrack, Ike Yard outtakes, Idea Fire Co's electronic era but doesn't sound like any of them. The addition of the "real world" sounds (piano and gong-y percussion) sees some kinship with Laurel Halo's musical arc, making shapes/textures reminiscent of free jazz from an electronic music project. - Nic
