Starseed - Cosmic Conspiracy CD

Charnel Sanctum (QLD) have unveiled this extremely enjoyable slab of sci-fi Death Metal, the sole release from Germany’s Starseed. Apparently 50 CD-r’s of ‘Cosmic Conspiracy’ were produced to send to record labels in 1997, and while in today’s DM landscape a bit of Startrek and synthesizer would not receive accusations ‘scaring the bros’, it did not receive an artist sanctioned physical release for over another 20 years!

Well, the metal world is well and truly ready for ‘Cosmic Conspiracy’ in 2026! We can thank Blood Incantation for the normalisation of science fiction themes and kosmische keyboards, but ‘Cosmic Conspiracy’ feels closer to peak Florida Death Metal’s “old school” feel with perplexing but headbangable riffs with atmospheric flourishes.
