When I first heard the opening track from Solange’s When I Get Home back in 2019, I could have sworn the weirdly syncopated stops/starts/skips in the song would be the aesthetic marker to usher in the return of the CD in a kind of RnB/Hip Hop star-meets-Oval kind of way. But I guess it just took a global pandemic and the swamping of pressing plants to make CDs cool again. And this Solange album still rules!
