Sarah Mary Chadwick's latest—and third of a trilogy of recent albums—is one full of raw confessionals and stark instrumentation similar to the much lauded pair of Mount Eerie albums a few years back. Me & Ennui Are Friends Baby is not necessarily a comfortable listen. It sounds like eavesdropping on a private phone call, reading someone else's diary, or sitting in on a shrink session. Yet in amongst all the processing of trauma are glints of humour, brutal honesty, and upfront fragility. -Mitch
