Sarah Hennies - The Reinvention Of Romance 2LP

“Just so you know… this is crazy music” – Anonymous customer. To be fair, this is not music people are used to hearing in public and they did experience its most challenging movements (side 1). But over these four sides these new compositions by Sarah Hennies, performed by Ashlee Booth (cello) & Adam Lion (percussion), feel immersive, intimate, and moving in a way I could not have imagined.

Sarah Hennies is composer and percussionist based in upstate New York, one notch on her resume is providing the “New York Drums” on The Native Cats – John Sharp Toro album. Over these 90 minutes we have real deep tonal exploration and peculiar shifting patterns that evoke very human feelings in a manner similar to John Gibson or Ellen Fullman. A record that fits well in the Astral Spirits stable of adventurous new music.
