Sam Gill's Scattered - Perspectival CD

Sydney based saxophonist & composer Sam Gill announces Perspectival, the debut album by his band Scattered.

Formed in 2014, Scattered is a unique meeting point of established and emerging musicians from Sydney’s creative music scene, featuring clarinetist Paul Cutlan, guitarist Yutaro Okuda, bassist Jacques Emery, and Luke Sweeting on accordion & piano.

The five tracks on Perspectival capture the band at an energetic creative peak. Recorded in late 2019, the album features a set of new compositions by Gill that draw inspiration from the worlds of jazz, chamber music & free improvisation. Each of the album’s five tracks presents a distinct musical narrative, with the band’s unconventional drummer-less line-up offering a fresh & compelling sound.
