For me personally, writing about poetry is much more difficult than writing about music. It might even be harder than dancing about architecture, which could actually be heaps easy. Has anyone ever given it a serious go? I’d try right now if I wasn’t at work.
This edition of Mulch (112 pages, 100 copies, published by Distort) was my favourite bus and train reading material of 2024. Heaps better than scrolling the socials.
The only thing I can compare it to is Gerald Murnane’s first collection of poetry ‘Green Shadows and Other Poems’ but written by someone who desperately needs to hide their formative participation in a youth music subculture that had some proximity to the band Rupture now that they’ve in a relatively cushie email job. - Nic
