Two things drove me towards the latest Rose City Band LP: the fact that they toured at length last year with Rosali last year, and the fact that the Barry Walker Jr (whose Shoulda Zenith LP I loved) plays pedal steel on this record.
Those markers of quality and the cover art basically sum up the record. Contemporary psych in the west coast Deadhead vein—drifting, hazy, and heady melodies perfect for soundtracking the evening sweep of the southerly through your window in summer!
