Originally self released as an 8 cassette box set in 1988, Chapter Eleven documents a decade of Robert Turman's homespun experiments. I first heard Turman's proto-techno epic Way Down about 10 years ago and I could hear he was not only ahead of his time, but operating completely outside of musical lineages.
Across these 4 discs Turman moves between territory similar to the kosmiche/Kraftwerk-adjacent Germans, Broken Flag / Industrial Records scree, dubbed out ambient electronics and at points he evokes a similar sonic space to the recent work of friend and collaborator Aaron Dilloway.
This box contains a phenomenal vision of sound and music, highly recommended! - Nic
