Experimental jazz giant Pharoah Sanders made an indelible impact with his unorthodox approach to the tenor sax. After passing through Sun Ra's Arkestra, his popularity soared with John Coltrane's band which he joined (the same year ESP Disk issued a self titled debut). Underground jazz label India Navigation released another set called Pharoah in 1977, with the laid-back epic "Harvest Time," featuring Pharoah's wife Bedria on harmonium, bassist Steve Neil, guitarist Tsiji Munoz, and keyboardist Jiggs Case; on side two, percussionist Lawrence Killian and drummer Greg Bandy drive the rhythm as Sanders sings.
