P Wits [aka Benedict Quilter, of Psychick Witch & co-founder of prolific NZ underground label; Independent Woman Records] follow up 2019 album to last year's double CS. LP entitled 'Blonde on Blonde' [& 2017's debut 'S/T' mini-LP CDR] .... 'Desire & Pursuit of the Whole' is the 3rd chem imbal release from this talented New Zealand artist/noise maker .. This time just under 45 minutes in total, featuring more of what he does best; making epic blasts of wall to wall noise of piercing guitar feedback/distortion, mostly muffled (if any) lyrics to keep it inaudible from listeners [assuming they are of a rather personal nature -from a private/"mysterious" persona] -- After the opening track or two, reminding me of something off Jandek's first LP.. with it's outsider/loner vibe & v minimal lo-fi acoustic guitar playing, providing that similar eerie feeling during moments of late-night isolation... then it leads into much noisier electric guitar exploration territory, throughout many of the latter tracks... & shows us his admiration/inspiration taken from fellow kiwi acts like CJA [amongst numerous other 90's+00's NZ acts with a similar free-rock approach/DIY ethos etc.]
