Before the term “weird punk” was used, or rather abused nowadays, MONITORS were already there. A synth punk band with no synths—drums, bass and an old ramshackle Wurlitzer piano. Born in Wisconsin in the early 2000s, punker than punk! Sounding like surveillance anxiety, minimal pop instincts and primitive rhythm smashed together. No revival, no irony, no nostalgia. Teramo’s Goodbye Boozy finally collects their three original 7” singles plus four unreleased tracks and four demos, making this the first real MONITORS album ever released.
