Oil in the Mangroves sees Low Flung AKA Danny Wild explore a synthesised soundscape; a utopia techno future where the natural environment hasn’t been eroded away by a global capital death march into oblivion. Synths swirl through the two long and immersive tracks like oil slicks being filtered through a mangrove patch, but not necessarily in an ominous manner—hydrophone gurgle and bird song still persevere.
