Lisa Lerkenfeldt's 'A Liquor Of Daisies' is a piece centred around tape loops of minimal piano phrases and hums/hisses that I'm guessing are some combination of traffic, the ocean or the playback machine themselves.
The shifting phase relation between these aspects is the centre of the piece, and makes for more than engaging listening. In fact it managed to shift my mood from cranky to carefree on a day I did not bring an adequate amount of lunch to work.
Fans of William Basinski, Andrew Chalk, Sarah Davachi, or fellow Shelter Press recording artist/label head Félicia Atkinson take note!
