King Blood - Eye I Aye Ivy LP

According to the good folks at Petty Bunco, King Blood are “your favourite unknown guitarist’s favourite unknown guitarist…” and yknow, that feels like an incredibly accurate assessment!

On his 3rd LP for the Philly imprint (and 4th overall), Ry Wharton pieces together eleven tracks of instrumental psych guitar. Replete with amps-pushed-to-the limit, spacious reverb, and overtones, the guitars layer and weave through each other just like the homophonic album title.

In situating it, I can’t help suggest that it would be right up the alley for fans of some perhaps “unknown” (but much loved around here!) guitarists and guitar-based bands: Les Rallizes Denudes, Emily Robb, and Headroom!
