Been thinking ‘bout revisiting Kill City since re-watching the James Williamson episode of Guitar Moves, and low and behold we got a handful of copies back in stock!
It’s a weird one all things considered. No major label present but it moves more in the direction of 70s Radio Rock than it does Raw Power Part 2. The ying to the proto-Hardcore yang of the ‘I Got A RIght’ 7”, both released in ‘77 but recorded earlier.
I’m a rusted on team Asheton brothers guy but James definitely channels the late-60s/early 70s Stones style as well as anyone since. Imagine if he had another band in the 70s, or teamed up with Rod Stewart, or joined The Doobie Brothers. We can only imagine…. - Nic
