High Rise was at the vanguard of an intense, full-throttled form of psychadelic rock surging from 1980’s Tokyo underground. Driven by Asahito Nanjo’s heavy fuzz bass and Munehiro Narito’s frenetic wah-wah guitar, the group’s second album High Rise II is a non-stop tour de force of raw improvised rock music. First released in 1986 by the legendary P.S.F. label, it remains an album which all other psych-guitar albums have to be measured.
