Gushing about this year’s Gusher — my favourite issue to date!
As someone too young to be of the generation where the much mythologised rock mags (Rolling Stone, Crawdaddy, etc) ruled the roost, reading Gusher feels like tapping to a similar vein: attuned to contemporary music in a way that seems to blur the boundaries between pop and countercultural worlds.
A weighty tome that gives music journalism the space and breadth it deserves (which to be honest, can’t be said about many glossy music publications these days…) and pairs it with original photography. I haven’t had a chance to read the whole issue yet, but have so far especially enjoyed the articles on Shin Joong Hyun, Rock Against Racism, Richard Hell, and Weyes Blood!
