Fuxache / Skirmisher - Split 7"

"Pop an ollie and innovate!" - Rodney Mullen, TED Talk 2013.

I’ll take the regional charm and charisma of these two groups (not to mention the Bad Habit Record store/label and surrounding community) on this 7" over what could be considered "innovation" in distorted guitar music circa 2022.

There's something about this split between Darwin's Fuxache and Brisbane's Skirmisher that feels endearing and exciting, like they're grinding against social media era self optimised hustle culture by making crude powerviolence with their interstate mates.

I like this record a whole lot more than I should as someone who just decided they need to own a copy of Wishbone Ash - Wishbone Four and always found something to buy over Spazz or Man Is The Bastard when shopping at Paint It Black. - Nic
