Fang - Enjoy The View / Yukon Fang 7"

Fang, a storied and infamous band from the Reagan era of Punk. Their legacy includes being covered by Mudhoney, Metallica, Nirvana and Green Day, relocating to West Germany, and unfortunately, murder. 

This, their very first 7” is completely missing from the notorious Fang narrative I’ve experienced. Both members of Fang circa 1981 would leave the band by 1985. The a-side ‘Enjoy The View’ fits somewhere near the Flipper/Frantix-like mid-paced punk style their “hit” single ‘The Money Will Roll Right In’ but with a wire-y and rickety feeling closer to The Urinals or Taco Leg. 

The b-side, ‘Yukon Fang’ is a much stranger number, almost like a sardonic punk parody of  Ze Records style mutant funk. A long looping drum and bass groove meets a laidback spoken/sung vocal with a single note guitar harmonic chiming in every once and a while. A great and unique tune! — Nic
