The latest transmission from Nipaluna/Hobart group Drunk Elk continues their run of drummerless and atmospheric songwriting. A group that always seemed to garner the effusive praise of David Keenan (see above!), it feels like a fitting time for the band to return to the fold with the recent Volcanic Tongue book and deluxe LP set issued earlier this year. Clear Skies In Effect evokes the classic windswept fringes of Tasmania with equally emotive lyrical observations. Alongside ten new tracks, this release also collects the long out of print tracks from the groups 2015 double 7” on Black Petal and their 2017 single for IDDB.
