Distort #62
Distort #62
This issue of Distort collects artwork from terminally offline artists, writers and self-publishers. I asked each contributor to find a flyer for a show they would’ve liked to attend, and to re-imagine the design in their own style.
Along with the slow fade of printed zines into obscurity has come the death of the flyer and the poster as physical objects. This aesthetic is an essential part of hardcore and punk music. This is a physical culture that is attempting to survive online… I celebrate the new era of self-publishing with this issue of Distort… a compilation of posters of historic revision.
If you like any of them, stick them on your wall. If you don’t, put them up in a public place to promote mass confusion.
With thanks to Greta, Ed, Shal, Buz, Walker, and Sam Ryser… and to everyone who contributed…
/50 copies, hand numbered. 9 A3 posters included plus Distort sticker and hand fliers.
