‘Soft Boy / Daniel’ is the first of a series of planned 7” singles from the band.
The A side, Soft Boy, was mixed by Shuta Shinoda (Daughter, Hot Chip, Ghostpoet), and takes aim at modern masculinity through the lens of a deeply flawed narrator.
The B-side, Daniel, was mixed by Owen Penglis (Royal Headache, Straight Arrows, Mini Skirt), and recounts front-man Richie’s unsuccessful job application as a validation chemist for AstraZeneca while picking at the numbing corporate culture he was (in hindsight) lucky to have avoided.
