Cyrus Pireh - Thank You, Guitar LP

Another entry on Bill Orcutt’s ever-interesting Palilalia Records exploring the world of extended technique/avant/contemporary guitar playing!

Sporting a 9-stringed variation of the guitar played through a delay pedal, Cyrus Pireh’s music meditatively pings out of the speakers. As Liam Grant earlier this year presented a contemporary take on American Primitivism, Pireh seems to do the same with the legacy of Vini Reilly and The Durutti Column. Patterned sheets of delayed guitar notes swirl throughout, but dip into more abrasive and processed territories.
