What a fun proposition! Sun Ra got his hands on the then state-of-the-art Prophet VS ("Vector Synthesizer") one day in 1986 and now that the tapes are out of the vault and in the world... opinions are polarised. I'll admit it kind of sounds like he's figuring out the dang thing in real time, but to me there's a spontaneous and silly charm.

Don't let those 2 star reviews dampen your enthusiasm, this minor chapter in Jazz/Ra history deserves defending! Maybe one for the Kye/Black Truffle crowd more-so than the Impulse Audiophile pressing purchaser. - Nic
