Look, our main man Nathan Roche (ex-Sydney resident now in France) has made some great Lou Reed/Alex Chilton-esque rock 'n' roll under his own name, but his music has never matched his avant-garde approach to surviving/creating art in the modern world. His duo with Paul Bonnet, CIA Debutante, better reflects his peculiar mind-cogs. Sci-fi synth and tape murk with no-fidelity spoken word that warrants the press releases big comparison to Cabaret Voltaire and The Shadow Ring. There's echos of Sydney groups Half High and pre-doof Severed Heads, plus the melodic and rhythmic undertones of pioneering French pre-industrial-prog bands Ilitch and Heldon.
