You've never heard "Changes" like this from Black Sabbath before. Two years ago the singer Charles Bradley presented a passionate soul version of the ballad with which he addresses the death of his mother and the associated changes in his life. In 2016 he made the single the title track of his new third album "Changes".

Just five years ago his debut album "No Time for Dreaming" was released. Comparisons with James Brown and Otis Redding were not far away because of his extraordinary voice. Again two years later came the successor "Victim of Love".

The 67-year-old Bradley has now completely discarded his status as a newcomer. And because album number one and two worked so well, the singer worked again with his longtime co-songwriter and producer Thomas Brenneck for his new album "Changes".

But: Compared to his first two albums "Changes" has also changed a lot. Instead of recording as usual only with the Menahan Street Band, the house band of the label Dunham Records, Bradley and Brenneck got several music combos into the studio this time. These include the Budos Band, the Dap-Kings and The Extraordinaires. As background singers on "Changes" you can hear Saun & Starr, the Sha La Das and the Gospel Queens.

Together Charles Bradley and his guest musicians have recorded eleven unique soul songs, including some of his most modern songs to date, such as "Change For The World" and "Ain't Gonna Give It Up". Apart from that, the new album features one thing above all else: good old soul and a voice that is second to none. - Daptone Records
