Body/Dilloway/Head - Body/Dilloway/Head LP

We’ve finally acquired enough copies of this BODY/DILLOWAY/HEAD mensa-conference-of-a-record to justify me writing some crap about it!

While many modern day collaborative records reek of hollow market optimisation, this is one where the all-star cast of Kim Gordon (Ciccone/Sonic Youth, Free Kitten), Aaron Dilloway (Wolf Eyes, Sucking Coeds) and Bill Nace (no intro needed, basically America’s Dua Lipa) matches the quality of the recorded material!

There’s no real departure from Body/Head or Aaron Dilloway’s general mode-of-operation. It’s the way in which Gordon and Nace’s guitar-ish free rock and Dilloway’s radioshack magnet tape systems interweave. Side B contains more palatable mid-length pieces of magically illogical loops, with a slow reveal eerie-into-cacophony piece on side A.

In a better world this LP could serve as an entry point into a network of worthwhile underground avant–garde music activities, real heads if you will, but I guess things don’t work that way anymore??? - Nic
