Bill Orcutt - Another Perfect Day LP

Always another perfect day when it’s Bill Orcutt release date!

After a number of years releasing records with his guitar quartet, back on the acoustic guitar, playing with a backing track, or using his Cracked software, Orcutt returns with a new solo electric guitar LP.

Recorded exactly two years prior to release date live at Cafe Oto (on that tattered Fender Twin amp that graced the cover of last year’s How To Rescue Things), this is everything you want from an Orcutt electric record. He was obviously in hot form that night (you can tell from the rapturous crowd reception, and even the moment of stunned silence after one track): magisterial lead lines that cut like butter through the speakers, frenetic cyclical and slightly shifting riffs, a bit of self-deprecating stage banter, and these incredible sheets of sound produced in chordal sections.

As always, Orcutt sits in the lineages of both Henry Flynt and Hendrix; the kind of record that anyone would like in a 12” Xmas stocking from a classic rock loving uncle to your internet-brain-rotted noise-music-head of a cousin! –Mitch
