Maximal hodge podge power pop from Sydney. Spirited guitar songs documented in a patchwork of post-work home recordings.

Belfast is a recording project by Joe Quine (Pist Idiots). Music inspired by the Powerpearls compilations, and daggy bands of late 70's Northern Ireland. The songs deal with trial and error, overcoming, and keeping your heart in the right place in the big city.

Special thanks to Tommy Quine (Pist Idiots) for playing bass on Saint Anthony and Kissing On The Mezzanine. Special thanks also to Ben Portnoy (C.O.F.F.I.N.) for drumming on Saint Anthony and Kissing On The Mezzanine, and playing harmonica and making tape noises for Intro.

"In late 2023 I had this bunch of songs sort of demoed, and felt the call to record something real deal. I had just moved to Warrawong but was coming back to Sydney for work during the week and staying at my parents. I loved the idea of recording in my childhood bedroom - together with the humiliation of making a power pop record as a 30 year old in my parents house in Bankstown, seemed perfect. With tragic stars aligned I set up shop and got to recording, a song at a time, doing takes after work and figuring out how to record everything ad hoc with few a mics and a true aim. (Thanks for listening)." - Joey Quine
