Arbor Labor Union - Out To Pasture LP

One that has seemingly flown under the radar so far this year on the ever-reliable Sophomore Lounge imprint!

Following on from the slinky-guitared wanderings of Yonder (2023), Arbor Labor Union return with Out To Pasture. This latest retains some of the tight-rhythm section drive of the previous record (which sounded like it came equally from a love of Motorik rhythms as it did from possible youth-punk experiences) yet the whole band sounds a little looser and open ended here.

A seven-song 12” feels like an unusual format, but is perfect for a little succinct dual guitar exploration. Enough time for the jams to roll out but kept succinct enough to descend into insufferable and self-absorbed noodling!

One that I would allow to graze alongside Meat Puppets, Dumbells, Mystic 100s, or all those bands that people say sound like the Allman Brothers (but whenever I listen to the Allman Brothers they always seem to be missing something y’know!). –Mitch
