‘Compositions for Piano II’ is a fairly unique 7” experience in any era, but particularly in today’s world. Angela Garrick (of Angie, Southern Comfort, Kiosk, Ruined Fortune etc) has long been a singular voice of Sydney music and here she further carves out a logic all of her own, clearly incapable of being swayed by anything but her own creative impulses.

Who would’ve thunk 15-or-so years ago that one half of the notorious gutter rockers Circle Pit would be making music comparable to The Necks, Monica Brooks, Idea Fire Company and post-glam Eno. Two piano orientated compositions with slivers of guitar and bass, alongside percussion from Tristan Price. Two tracks, totalling just under 15 minutes, form this new instrumental offering from Sydney based musician and composer Angela Garrick. Alongside longtime drummer Tristan Price, this record centres around the piano, but includes moments of guitar, bass, and percussion. Following the 2018 release Compositions for Piano, this new iteration will soothe, inspire, reveal and heal.
