Red vinyl
The second LP from Amyl & The Sniffers brings with it the kind of straight up Oz punk with Amy Taylor’s down-to-earth and socially conscious lyrics matched with her snarling delivery. Cool in the way that there doesn’t seem to be any posturing for “cool points” or laboured nods to what the hip kids are into.
The sharpie worship of the past releases is still there but has become part of a broadened rock dog spectrum. Big hooks, big solos, and a couple of big ballads. Reminds me of Royal Headache’s 2nd LP in a “local heroes picking up steam overseas while crafting songs and expanding their sonic palette” kinda way!
P.S. can’t find anything online about it, but that album cover is a Simpsons reference, right? So sick.
