About as far from Sydney weather/vibe as you can get at the moment, if that’s your thing (or you’re after some escapism?). Listening back to Grouper in anticipation of her new album, this LP balances between hushed folk and ambient vocal experiments, evoking Julie Byrne, mid-90s Smog, or the rainy Pacific Northwest stuck-inside-ism of Mount Eerie. Like a calming but strange walk through through a misty forest, rather than a tense stroll through sunny lockdown streets.
