A reissue of the former-Bad Seed’s album that turns the chanteuse form on its head.
Great to see the releases of the late Anita Lane are finally hitting the reissue circuit. On her 2001 album, founding member of the Bad Seeds seems to flip the chanteuse form on its head. Rather than occupying the kind of muse-like position of so many women in the genre (and considering her unfortunate legacy as one of Nick Cave’s muses) Lane’s album takes a grab-him-by-the-balls kind of sexual authority. Nothing coy or merely suggestive here, just upfront steamy and raunchy tracks!
