DAR - A Slightly Larger Head LP

A wonk rock record for the ages with enough ear worms that I haven’t stopped listening to it since it arrived in the shop weeks ago!

DAR is the solo project of Chicagoan Aaron Osbourne, his second LP feels like the combination of two veins of independent music that we love around here. On the one hand there’s a GBV-esque nod to 90s DIY/college rock music that contained HOOKS while still remaining rough around the edges. On the other, there’s an off-kilter approach to the record that recalls first-3-solo-LP-Eno, assisted by members of Equipment Pointed Ankh and Ryan Davis & The Roadhouse Band.

One for local fans of Itchy Bugger, Dumbbells, and The Lewers or those looking for the ever reliable Sophomore Lounge seal of quality!
