Kinda pisses me off how damn good this album is! A hipper-than-thou band that positioned themselves as the heirs to the throne of The Stooges, Velvet Underground, Suicide etc. Big shoes to fill but the mad bastards did it!
I reckon 1988’s ‘Playing With Fire’ is their high point. An undeniable ability to write minimal, simplistic tunes paired with an inventive use of tempo synced tremolo and echo trickery. Timeless!
